A biochemistry profile is a panel of tests that can provide indicators of the health and function of your pet’s organs including the pancreas, liver, kidneys, intestines, and thyroid. It can also assess blood glucose and electrolytes.
Most biochemistry profiles can be run our clinic, when same day results are necessary. Otherwise they may be send to Idexx, our reference lab for analysis.
If abnormalities are found on the biochemistry profile, we may recommend monitoring or recommend a more extensive diagnostic workup, including more specific biochemistry tests that will be sent to the reference lab.
