Hematology

The most common hematology test is the Complete Blood Cell Count (CBC). The CBC provides information about the number, size and shape of the various blood cell types. These include red blood cells, which carry oxygen to the tissues; white blood cells, which fight infection and respond to inflammation; and platelets, which help the blood to clot. It can help to identify conditions such as infection, inflammation, anemia, and hemorrhage.

The CBC can be run in our clinic, or may be submitted to Idexx, our reference lab for analysis.
